Environmental Security Computing Center | National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration | Fairmont, WV

 

As Prime Architects and Architect-of-Record, KPN Architects’ Design Team spearheaded the space planning, design and construction administration of this prototype Research, and Training Facility located within the Institute for Scientific Research complex in Fairmont, West Virginia.

Encompassing over 50,000 sf. of high-security research space, this super-computer facility includes a Tracking Center, Executive and Administrative Office Suites, secure and non-secure Common Areas, a Conference Center, a high-density Data Center and high-security Computer Laboratories. Completed in 2011, this $30M project established the standards for the functional space planning and interior architecture for all future NOAA super-computer research and training facilities in the country.

  2. Today, I went to the beach front with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old
    daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
    She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She
    never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but
    I had to tell someone!
