Situated within the sprawling Institute of Scientific Research Complex in Fairmont, West Virginia, the KPN Design Team planned and designed this sophisticated 10,800 sf. data center facility that includes NOAA’s Weather Tracking Operations and Computer Command Center. Among the special features of this modern, state-of-the-art facility are Conference and Meeting Rooms, Executive as well as Administrative Support Offices, and a unique infrastructure support system that carries three – 53 ft. diameter super Satellite Tracking Antennas capable of monitoring weather situations on several continents.

Utilizing a number of unique, energy-efficient strategies, all improvements and systems in this facility were designed to meet LEED Silver Certification. At an estimated cost of $15M, this project was completed in the fall of 2012.
