Project Information

The new Calvin + Tina Tyler Hall will serve as the new Student Services Center at the prominent entrance corner of Morgan State University. The building will be an icon of the University, welcoming students and visitors to the historic campus. Calvin + Tina Tyler Hall is programmed to support the University’s current and projected undergraduate, graduate, and executive educational and research programs and to create a recognizable physical identity for the Student Services Building as it is located at one of the gateways to the campus.

The facility will house Career Development, Admissions and Recruitment, Records and Registration, Community Service, Financial Aid, and General Support offices, as well as meeting spaces and a Grab and Go Café.

The exterior of the building will combine traditional and modern elements, connecting to both the historic setting, and the new modern buildings on campus. Two large atria and a curtain wall facade will bring natural lighting into the building. The design will also incorporate technology-rich spaces, environmentally sustainable green terraces. The Student Services Center is designed to achieve LEED Silver certification.

KPN Architects is the FF+E Architect coordinating test fits for the program for the entire program, as well as Associate Architect to Teeple Architects and GWWO.
